L’orchestra è stata fondata nel 1988 avendo come direttore artistico il M° Alfred Ghersfeld. Ha collaborato con i Maestri Alexandru Samoila (direttore dell’Opera di Ishmir-Turchia), Eughenii Samoilov (S. Petersburg- Russia), Liviu Buiuc (Romania), Cristian Florea (Spagna). Dal 2000 l’orchestra collabora con il Maestro Oleg Paymski, direttore, compositore, pianista, musicologo, e con il suo assistente, il violoncellista Nicolai Tatarinov.
L’orchestra è composta dai migliori strumentisti della Repubblica, diplomati in conservatori nazionali ed internazionali. Ogni strumentista, inoltre, si esibisce in varie formazioni da camera ed anche come solista. L’orchestra ha effettuato delle tournée in Russia, Ucraina, Romania, Spagna, Francia, Svizzera, Germania, Italia, Israele e Stati Uniti.
Il vasto repertorio, che comprende brani dal periodo barocco a quello contemporaneo, ha consentito all’orchestra l’incisione di numerosi CD, in particolare con il famoso trombettista francese Bernard Soustrot registrato nel 1998 presso il Teatro Montansier di Versailles.

The National Chamber Orchestra of the Moldova Republic, was founded in 1988, having as artistic director M° Alfred Ghersfeld. It has collaborated with such Masters as Alexandru Samoila (principal conductor of the Ishmir Opera - Turkey), Eughenii Samoilov (S. Petersburg, Russia), Liviu Buiuc (Romania), Christian Florea (Spain).
Since 2000 the Orchestra has been working together with M° Oleg Paymski - conductor, composer, pianist, learned musicologist - and with his assistant, the cellist Nicolai Tatarinov. The Orchestra is made up of the best instrumentalists of the Republic who graduated from national and international conservatories. Moreover, every instrumentalist performs in different chamber formations and also as soloist. The Orchestra has made some tours in Russia, Ucraine, Romania, Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Israel and the United States.
The vast repertoire, which consists of pieces from the baroque period up to the contemporany one, has allowed the orchestra the recording of many CDs one, in particular, with the famous French trumpet player Bernard Soustrot, recorded in 1998 at the Montansier Theatre in Versailles .
